Vermont Days 2008, June 14th and 15th, is the weekend to celebrate the arrival of summer and enjoy a free sample of Vermont’s excellent fishing, state parks, and historic and cultural resources.
All Vermont State Park day areas, state-owned historic sites, and the Vermont Historical Society Museum in Montpelier will be open at no charge. Saturday, June 14th is free fishing day – the one day in the year when residents and non-residents may go fishing without a license. Sunday, June 15th is Father’s Day and there are special events being planned all around Vermont to help celebrate (and thank) our Dads.
This is a great chance to gather with family and friends and discover a new part of Vermont, or reconnect with a place you haven’t visited in a while. Locations and events are open and free for everyone – both residents and nonresidents.
The weekend has something for everyone. This year in addition to special Father’s Day events, we are adding more activities at the state parks and historic sites – including live music, Vermont dairy products, artist demonstrations, and performances.
