| While you’re enjoying the striking colors in our region, we hope you are able to take some time to see some of the other sights in Southern Windsor County.
Windsor is the Birthplace of Vermont. And, the restored Old Constitution House looks much like it did more than 200 years ago. Just down the street is the American Precision Museum, which houses exhibits celebrating the manufacturing heritage of the Precision Valley. Across the road is the longest covered bridge in our country, the Windsor-Cornish Covered Bridge. Windsor is also the home of the Vermont State Craft Center at Windsor House, which is also right on Main Street.
Chester is known for its historic Stone Village and lovely village green. Nearby is the Chester Art Guild featuring the work of talented local artists. Ludlow’s the home of the Black River Academy Museum as well as the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts & Crafts.
Springfield features the Miller Art Center as well as the Gallery at the VAULT.
If you’d like to tee it up in the fall season, the region features two of the state’s top courses in the Okemo Valley Golf Club in Ludlow and Crown Point Country Club in Springfield.
The Green Mountain Flier offers foliage train rides from the heart of Chester Depot to Bellows Falls. And, Springfield’s Precision Valley Corvette Museum features several generations of one of America’s most famous automobiles.
Other attractions in the region include Simon Pearce in the Windsor “See It Made” Park not only has remarkable glassware and pottery, but also the opportunity to see glass blowing on site. Next door is Harpoon Brewery where they brew a variety of beers and ales as well as Vermont Draft Soda.
